Attestation against the appropriate Registered Teacher Criteria which represents the essential knowledge and capabilities for quality teaching in NZ.

Pre-Appraisal Meeting Communication

As you know, your appraisal is shortly about to take place. As part of this process, you have an opportunity to complete a self appraisal form and also take part in a pre-appraisal discussion with your appraiser. 

 

Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx will arrange a convenient time with you to discuss your upcoming appraisal. In preparation for this meeting you need to:

 

  • Locate and read your Job Description, in particular the individual goals identified for this year.
  • Complete a self appraisal form.
  • Gather any relevant material to share that provides evidence of progress/ achievement of individual goals.

Please ensure that you bring the above documentation to the pre-appraisal meeting.

 

Classroom Observations

Classroom observations are a key element in the data gathering process to inform appraisal documentation. It is essential that the time spent with the appraiser in the classroom is used productively. Can you please ensure that during the period of time allocated for observations to occur, you have the following documentation ready.

This includes:

  • Classroom timetable
  • Long Term Plans
  • Implementation Plans
  • Unit plans
  • Weekly literacy and numeracy planning
  • Register
  • Termly report portfolios
