Drivers are still welcome to use our car park, however you must arrive before the driveways is closed, and leave after it has been reopened. We still have some parents who try and leave our car park immediately after 3:00pm. Please remember, we are trying to keep your children safe!
Jackie Kaio away for Term 4 Room 4 teacher Jackie Kaio will be away from school for Term 4 to join her husband James in Estonia, where he is on a military posting. Jackie will then travel on to Canada to spend some time with her family. Robyn Sheehan who currently works in the school, will be the teacher in the classroom for the 4th Term. The staff and Board of Trustees wish Jackie well for her trip, and look forward to her joining us at the start of 2011.

This was helpful in identifying areas of strength in regards to the Board’s role in raising student achievement and the National Standards, furthermore identifying next steps which need to be taken. A sub committee of the Board have continued to work on the school’s rebranding and hopefully changes to Fraser will start occurring shortly. Changes to the school’s property plan have meant that we will now be getting heat pumps installed in the school hall. For those of you who join us at those chilly Monday morning assemblies, you will no longer need your thermals (once the pumps are installed that is!) Finally the Board approved the school’s leadership team’s (Michelle, Glenn and John) attendance at the Wellington Principals’ Conference in Term 4. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Frasernolopy Unit The Frasernolopy Unit is now well underway and fortunes are being made and lost by the day. The government even needed to step in and shut down some black market traders! See if you are free to pop in to one of our upcoming market days in order to purchase a few goodies. The next market days will be held on the 27th August, 3rd and 10th of September 2010.
Camp Raffle Number 1 Jemma Tiopira won the first Year 6 Camp raffle, a basket of beauty goodies. A second camp raffle of groceries will be commencing shortly.
10 Aside Rugby Friendly As the Wellington Primary Schools’ rugby competition was cancelled due to the condition of the grounds at Fraser Park, our team of Active Adventurers decided to host Totara Park School to come and play on Picard Park (our new rugby field) on Thursday of this week. Totara Park school ended up taking the honours, but both teams put in a gutsy effort. A big thank you to Mr Mac and Mr Stent for all their hard work training the team. Well done to the kids for representing the school proudly.
Maidstone Intermediate Enrolments – 17th September The 17th September is the final date for parents and caregivers wanting to enrol students to attend Maidstone Intermediate next year.
Reading Club Reading Club has now finished for the term. Many thanks to all the children, families and staff who supported the Reading Club. A big thumbs up to the Home and School Association and the families who generously supported our Reading Club with prizes, biscuits and fruit.
Upper Hutt Library Amnesty
HOME AND SCHOOL Stockcars will be returning shortly and is without doubt the biggest earner for the Home and School Association. It requires a couple of hours of your help in the evening to either direct cars or sell tickets at the Te Marua Stockcars. If you are able to help out, please contact Cherie on 977 7691
The Upper Hutt Spring Festival is coming on the 11th of September and we need your help. Each year Fraser Crescent School runs a stall at the Spring Festival as a fundraiser. If you can spare two hours of your time to help us sell candy floss, please leave your name at the school office.
