The August Home and School meeting was a highly productive one, furthermore it was great to see a few new faces attending. We are now past the half way point in the year and our fundraising efforts look on track to reaching our target of $10,000.00. There is however, lots of work still to be done and many ways in which all parents and caregivers at our school can help out. Including…

Stockcars will be returning shortly and is without doubt the biggest earner for the Home and School Association. It requires a couple of hours of your help in the evening to either direct cars or sell tickets at the Te Marua Stockcars. If you are able to help out, please contact Cherie on 977 7691

The Upper Hutt Spring Festival is coming on the 11th of September and we need your help. Each year Fraser Crescent School runs a stall at the Spring Festival as a fundraiser. If you can spare two hours of your time to help us sell candy floss, please leave your name at the school office.

Sugar. Donations of sugar are being gratefully accepted in order to make candy floss for the Spring Festival. These can be left at the office.

Pencil Friday the 24th September in your diary as the Home and School are planning a Disco in the school hall. Details to be confirmed closer to the time.

Finally, well done to Georgie Dobson for all the work she has done lately regarding grant applications. Georgie was successful in getting a grant of $5,000.00 for the school to help fund the Year 6 Camp. This will help to significantly reduce the costs which families have to pay to attend the camp at the end of the year. Georgie was also successful in getting a $500.00 grant to go towards our signage improvements.

PURPOSE

The role of the Fraser Crescent Home and School Association is to raise funds to support the activities of the school and additional activities that are not funded by the Ministry of Education. This may be to subsidise school trips, fund the purchase of new resources & equipment, entertainers and any additional items that may arise throughout the year. The Home and School also organise fun activities for the children such as Children’s Day events and school discos.  This additional funding ensures ALL children the equal opportunity to participate and benefit.

WHO WE ARE

The Home and School association consists of parents, just like you. We are passionate about supporting our school and our children’s education.  We meet the 1st Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm in the staffroom and we would welcome new committee members onboard.

All parents and caregivers of children attending Fraser Crescent School are automatically members of the Home and School Association.  If you don’t have the time to join the committee or come along to meetings but would still like to be involved in fundraising activities, you are more than welcome to contact any of the committee members above and offer your help.
